Troubleshooting
What to do if you have a problem
If you experience problems with your Matrox product:
Make sure your Matrox card is properly installed, you’re using the correct connectors,
and that all connectors are properly fastened. For more information, see “Installing your
interface card, page 8 and “Connecting your Extio unit, page 11.
Review the documentation provided with your Matrox product, including the
information in this section, to see if your problem is already addressed.
If your problem persists, contact Matrox. For more information, see “Customer support”, page 56.
Troubleshooting checklist
Here are some steps to take to troubleshoot the more common issues encountered with your Matrox
product.
Before installing and connecting your Extio product
Make sure your system meets the requirements to support your Extio product. For more
information, see “Specifications, page 49.
Make sure your optical cables are supported for the distance between your unit and your
system. For more information, see “Maximum distances”, page 50.
Make sure all previously installed display and audio drivers are removed.
Make sure your built-in audio device is disabled. For more information, see page 48.
Make sure any built-in audio or graphics hardware is disabled in your system BIOS. For
more information on how to access your system BIOS, see your system manual.
Note:
Extio is validated for point-to-point connections. For applications requiring
non-point-to-point connections, including optical couplers and switches, contact
your Matrox representative.
