Direct Fixing Matrix Lattice
The following steps must be followed when direct fixing Matrix lattice.
To directly attach the lattice it needs to overlap the frame, so the lattice can be fastened. Before
you start, measure the area that you wish to cover. If more than 1 sheet is required to
cover the area, and there is no structure to secure the joining sheets, you will require
H-Joiners to join additional sheets.
Where the sheet overlaps the frame, drill a 14mm hole in the centre of the lattice slats every 600mm.
Remove tabs from the perimeter of the sheet with snips.
Use a large 20mm washer and a suitable screw, depending on whether fastening to timber or steel.
Make sure that each screw is in the centre of each attachment hole.
Do not over -tighten the screws as this will restrict the lattice from expanding and contracting.
If fitting multiple sheets, you must leave a space of 6mm between sheets for expansion along each
long edge and 12mm along each short edge.
If the lattice buckles in the heat, this means that the screws are too tight ; release them slightly to
allow some movement. If lattice still buckles, check that screws are centred and reposition if required.
Colour coated hex head fasteners are available from most hardware stores.
