3 License Management
FLEXnet License Management Utilities
You typically do not need to know anything about the license manager.
However, there can be times when you want to get the current status of
the license manager or perform other license management tasks. FLEXnet
provides several utilities that you can use to monitor and manage licensing
activities at your site. The following sections describe these utilities.

Note If you want to make changes to your licenses, such as combining
several licenses or moving an existing toolbox license, you must contact
The MathWorks. See "Obtaining Your Licenses" on page 1-28 for contact
information.
Using the FLEXnet Command Line Utilities (lmutil.exe)
FLEXnet packages all their license management utilities in a single
executable called Imutil. exe. The MathWorks Installer includes this utility
in every server installation in the matiabroot\flexim folder. To view a list of
all the capabilities ofthe Imutil utility, open a Command Prompt window, go
to the matiabroot\flexim folder and type
Imutil
Note You must run the Imutil function on the system on which the license
manager is running.
The following table lists the names of the most useful tools available
through Imutil. For more detailed information, see the FLEXnet Licensing
End User Manual, included in PDF format in your MATLAB installation
(matIabroot\f lexlm\enduser. pdf). For information about accessing these
tools through a graphical user interface, see "Using the FLEXnet Utilities
Graphical User Interface (LMTOOLS)" on page 3-12.
