Why Create Multiexperiment Data?
You can create a t
ime-domain or frequency-do main data set in the System
Identification
Tool GUI that includes sev eral experiments. Identifying models
for multiexper
iment data results in an average model.
Experiments ca
n mean data that was collected during different s essions, or
portions of the
data collected du r ing a s in gl e session. In the la tter si tu ation,
you can create
multiexperiment data by splitting a single data se t i n to
multip le segm
ents that exclude corrupt data, and then merge the good data
segments.
Limitations on Data Sets
You can only me
rge data sets that have all of the following characteristics:
• Same number o
f input and output channels.
• Different na
mes. The name of each data set becomes the experiment name
in the merged
data set.
• Same input an
d output channel names.
• Same data do m
ain (that is, time-domain data or frequency-domain data
only).
Merging Data Sets
You can merge
data sets using the System Identification Tool GUI.
