Ways to Select Data in the GUI
You can use Syste
mIdentication Tool GUI to select ranges of data on a
time-domain or f
requency-domain plot. Selecting data in the frequency
domain is equiv
alent to pa ssb an d -ltering the data.
After you selec
t portions of the data, you can specify to use one data segment
for estimat ing
models and use the other data segment for validating models.
For more inform
ation, see “Specifying Estimation and Validation Data” on
page 1-29.
Note Selectin
g <–Preprocess > Quick start performs the following actions
simultaneous
ly:
Remove the mea
n value from each channel.
Split the data
into two parts.
Specify the r
st part as estimation data (or Working Data).
Specify the se
cond part as Va lidation Data.
Selecting a Range for Time-Domain Data
You can select
a range o f data values on a time plot and save it as a new data
set in the Sys
tem Identication Tool GUI.
Note Selectin
g data does not extract experime n ts from a data set containing
multiple exp
eriments. For more information about multiexperiment data, see
“Creating Mu
ltiexperiment Data Sets in t he GUI” on page 1-33.
