3 Using the Image Acquisition Tool GUI
Note Some devices need a few frames to warm up, or may a lways skip the
first frame. If your device does that, change the number o f frames accordingly
to a dj u st for that. Yo u can also adju st for came r a warm-up by using man u a l
triggering on the Triggering tab.
Setting the Color Space
Use Color Space on the General tab to set the color space for the selected
device format. The Returned Color Space field has three options:
rgb,
YCbCr,andgrayscale. The setting that is your device forma t’s defa u lt color

Additionally, if the default color space is
grayscale,avalueofbayer will
be available in the Returned Color Space field for some devices, and the
Bayer Sensor Alignment field will a lso be displayed. Use the drop-down
list to select one of the four possible s en sor alignments. This feature allows
the tool to d emosaic Bayer patterns returned by the hardware and interpolate
them into standard RGB color images. For more information about this
feature, see the
BayerSensorAlignment property reference page.
Using the Region of Interest
By default your acquisition will consist o f the entire frame that the device
acquires, which is equal to the selected format’s resolution. If you want to
acquire only some portion of the frame, use the Region of Interest field on
the General tab to set the desired region.
The ROI window defines the actual size of the frame logged by the tool,
measured with respect to the top-left corner of an image frame.
To set up an ROI:
1 Optionally click the Start Preview button to start previewing the data
from your device.
2 AdjustoneormoreoftheX-Offset, Y-Offset, Width,orHeight settings in
the Region of Interest field until you reach the desired region. You can
use the arrows or type numbers to define the region. The setting will be
automatically reflected in the Preview w ind ow if preview is running.
