Troubleshooting Hamamatsu Hardware
If you are having trouble using Image Acquisition Toolbox with a Hamamatsu
digital camera, follow these troubleshooting steps:
1 Verify that your image acquisition hardware is functioning properly.
• Make sure that your camera is plugged into the IEEE 1394 (FireWire)
port on yo ur co mputer and is powered up.
• Run the application that came with your hardware and verify that you
can acquire video frames. Use the
exAcq.exe application, available from
Hamamatsu.
2 Make sure you s pecified the ham amat su adaptor when you created the video
input object. Some IEEE 1394 (FireWire) cameras can be accessed through
either the
dcam or winv ideo adaptors. See “Creating a Video Input Ob ject”
on page 4-10 for more information about specifying adaptors.
3 Verify that y
ou are using the correct hardware device driver that is
compatible w
ith the toolbox. Image Acquisition Toolbox is only compatible
with specifi
c driver versions provided by Hamamatsu and is not guaranteed
to work with a
ny other versions.
• Find out the d
river version you are using on your system.
• Verify that t
he version is compatible with Image Acquisition Toolbox.
For the corr
ect driver information, check the list of supported drivers on
the Image Ac
quisition Toolbox product pag e at the MathWorks Web site
