Troubleshooting Data Translation Hardware
If you are having trouble using Image Acquisition Toolbox with a supported
Data Translation frame grabber, follow these troubleshooting steps:
1 Verify that your image acquisition hardware is functioning properly.
For Data Translation devices, run the application that came with your
hardware and verify that y ou can receive live video.
2 If your hardwar
e is functioning properly, verify that you are using a
hardware devic
e driver that is compatible with the toolbox. Image
Acquisition T
oolbox is only compatible with specific drive r v ersions
provided by Da
ta Translation with the Imaging Omni CD and is not
guaranteed to
work with any other versions.
• Find out the dr
iver ve rsio n you are using on your system.
• Verify that th
e version is compatible with Im ag e Acquisition Toolbox.
For the corre
ct driver information, check the list of supporte d drivers on
the Image Acq
uisition Toolbox p roduct page at the MathWorks Web site
(
www.mathwo
rks.com/products/imaq
).
If you discover that you are using an unsupported driver version, visit
the Data Translation Web site (
www.datatranslation.com)todownload
the correct driver.
3 Install the Data Translation Software Development Kit (SDK).
If the
imaqh
winfo
function does not return the driver for a Data Translation
frame grabb
er, or the
imaqhwinfo function or videoinput functions return
an error mes
sage about a missing DLL (
olfg32.dll), you may need to
install a d
ditional files from the Imaging Omni CD.
By default, when you install drivers for your Data Translation frame
grabber, the installation program may not install all the files the device
drivers need. The additional files needed by the device driver are part of
the SDK installation, not the device driver installation. If you get error
messages about missing files, insert the Imaging Omni CD into your
CD-ROM drive and install the SDK.
