Cluster Description
To set up a cluster, you firs t install M A TLAB
®
Distributed Computing
Server™ (MDC S) on a node called the head node. You can also install the
license manager o n the head n ode. After performing this installation, you can
then option al ly install MDCS on th e individual cl uster nodes, called w orker
nodes. You do not need to install the license manager on worker nodes.
This figure shows the installations that you perform on your MDCS cluster
nodes. This is only one possibleconfiguration.(Theclusterlicensemanager
and MDCS can be installed on separate nodes, but this type of installation
is not discussed in this do cu ment.)
Product Installatio ns on Cluster Nodes
You install P arallel Computing Toolb ox ™ (PCT) softw are on the computer
that you use to write MATLAB
®
applications. This is called the client node.
This figure shows the installations that you must perform on client nodes.
