5 Configuring Parallel Computing Products for a Generi c Scheduler
Step 1: Set Up Win
dows Client Host
On the Client Host
1 You need the n e cessary scripts on the path of the M AT LAB client. You can
do this by copying them to a folder already o n the path.
Browse to the folder:
matlabroot\
toolbox\distcomp\ exa mples\integration\lsf\no nshared
Copy all the files from that folder, and paste them into the folder:
matlabroot
\toolbox\local
Step 2: Define a User Configuration
In this step you define a user co nfiguration to use in subsequent steps.
1 Start a MATLAB se ssio n on the client host.
2 Start th
e Configurations Manager from the MATLAB desktop by selecting
Paralle
l > Manage Configurations.
3 Create a new configuration in the Configurations M anager dialog box by
selecting File > New > generic.
4 In the Scheduler Configuration Properties dialog box, provide settings for
the following fields:
a E nter the text in the Configuration name field: InstallTest.
b Enter the text in the Description field: For testing install atio n.
c Set the Root directory of MATLAB to the installation location of the
MATLAB to be executed by the worker machines, as determ ined in
Chapter 1 of the installation instructions.
d Set the Numb er of workers available to the number of workers you
want to test your installation on.
e Set the Directory where job data is stored to the location where you
want job and task data to be stored on the client machine.
