2 Configuring Parallel Computing Products for a Job Manager
Step 2: Stop mdce Services of Old Installation
If you have an older version of the distributed computing products running
on your cluster nodes, you should stop the mdce services before starting the
services for the new installation.

• “Stop mdce o n UNIX” on page 2-5
Stop mdce on Windows
If this is your first installation o f the distributed computing products, proceed
to Step 2.
1 Log in as a user with administrator privileges.
2 Open a DOS command window by selecting Start > Run, then in the
Open field, type
cmd
You must run the command window with administrator privileges. If you
are using Windows 7 or Windows Vista™, click Start > (All) Programs
> Accessories; right-click Command W indow,andselectRun as
Administrator. This option is available only if you are running User
Account Control (UAC).
3 Inthecommandwindow,navigatetothefolderoftheoldinstallationthat
contains the control scripts.
cd oldmatlabroot\toolbox\distcomp\bin
4 Stop and u n in sta ll th e o ld m dce service and remove its associated files by
typing the command:
mdce uninstall -clean
Note Using the -clean flag permanently re mov es all existing job data. B e
sure this data is no longer needed before removing it.
