2 Configuring Parallel Computing Products for a Job Manager
Configure Cluster to Use a Job Manager
The mdce service must be running on all machines being used for job
managers or workers. This service manages the job manager and worker
processes. One of the major tasks of the mdce service is to recover job manager
and worker sessions after a system crash, so that j obs and tasks are not lost
as a result of such a ccidents.
In the following instructions, matlabroot refers to the location of your
installed M AT LAB Distribu ted Computing Server softw are . W h ere you see
this term used in the instructions that follow, substitute the path to your
location.
Step 1: Set Up Windows Cluster Hosts
If this is the first installation of MATLAB Distributed C omputing Server
on a cluster of W indows machines, you ne ed to configure these hosts for job
communications.
Note If you do not have a Windows cluster, or if you have already installed a
previous version of M AT L AB D istributed Computing Server on your W i ndows
cluster, you can skip this step and proceed to Step 2.
