it encounters notebook with these arguments.
Versions of Microsoft Word Application Supported by Notebook; Microsoft Word 97 No Longer
Supported
MATLAB Notebook supports the Microsoft Word version 2000 application. Notebook also
supports the Microsoft Word 2002 application and Microsoft Word 2003 application, both
for the Microsoft Windows XP platform.
Compatibility Considerations
As of MATLAB 7.1 (R14SP3), Notebook no longer supports the Microsoft Word 97
application.
