PAINTING YOUR DOOR
Tools Required
• Sandpaper
• Latex Paint
• Paint Roller
• Masking Tape
• Cleaning Rags
• Mild Detergent
1.) Remove the door from the frame
of the door unit by removing all of the
hinge pins.
4.) Wash the door with a mild detergent
and rinse the surface. Allow to dry
completely before starting the paint
process.
5.) If your door unit has glass, use
masking tape to mask off all areas of
the door or frame that you do not want
painted.
Lite Frame Painting: Prime the lite frame using
Rust-Oleum® Specialty Plastic Primer Spray
before painting with latex paint.
6.) Using a roller, apply a finishing coat
of high quality latex paint.
Allow the door to dry completely before
re-installing into the door frame.
2.) Place the door unit onto two padded
saw horses.
3.) Remove all dust and debris from
the surface of the door and lightly sand
the entire door surface using a fine grit
sandpaper.
NOTE: Failure to sand the door will create
adhesion problems between the doors surface
and the latex paint.
