PREHUNG DOOR FRAME EXTENDER
Predrill and nail the corners of the side and header
extension jambs together using the 16D galvanized casing
nails
(
fig.12 & 13
).
Remove all nails from brickmould before reinstalling (fig.14
).
Position all 3 pieces in place prior to nailing. Start by aligning the
side brickmould flush with the bottom of the frame and leave a
½” reveal between the inside edge of the frame and the inside
edge of the brickmould
(

).
Apply the brickmould using
8D galvanized nish nails. It may be necessary to nail in new
locations and ll in the original holes
(
fig.16
).
Predrilling is
recommended. Mitered corners should be nailed together from
the top or side
(
fig.17
). Set all nails and ll with spackling
compound for a more finished look (
fig.18
).
