Fast Set Concrete Mix
Menards Sku# 189-1111
Fast Set Concrete Mix is used for applications where a fast
setting general purpose concrete is desired.
For Setting:
• Fence posts
• Mailbox posts
• Swing sets
For Building:
• Steps
• Sidewalks
• Air conditioner pads
Product Description
When repairing concrete, remove all loose and foreign
material. Dampen adjoining concrete surfaces.
This special blend of fast setting cements, sand, and gravel
is designed to set hard in approximately 20-40 minutes.
Sets posts without mixing. Pour dry into hole and soak
with water.

Machine Mixing Instructions
Installation
Repair Preparatory Work
• Empty concrete bags into a suitable mixing container.
• Add approximately 1/2 gallon (2.8 L) of clean water
for each 60 lb (27.2 kg) bag.
• Work the mix with a shovel, rake or hoe and add
water as needed until a stiff, moldable consistency is
achieved.
• Be sure all material is uniformaly mixed.
• Do not leave standing puddles.
Hand Mixing Instructions
Weight-Unit: 50 lb (22.6kg)
Pallet Quantity: 77/Pallet
Setting Time: 20-40 minutes
Walk on time: 8 hours
Bagging Specications
Note: For best results, do not overwork the material.
Important: Contact Digger’s Hotline before starting
any projects that involve digging.
Pro-Tip: Do not mix more material than can be used in
15 minutes.
• Add approximately 2.5 to 3 quarts (2.4 to 2.9 L) of
clean water for each 50 lb (22.5 kg) bag of fast set
concrete mix and mix thoroughly.
Pro-Tip: for additional strength, replace water with an
Acrylic Bonding Additive.
• If more water is needed to obtain a workable mix, add
small amounts at a time and continue to mix until
desired consistency is achieved. Excess water reduces
strength and durability and can cause cracking.
Pro-Tip: Add 3 oz of Liquid Air Entrainment to each
50 lb bag of concrete mix to improve workability, freeze
thaw resistance, and improve resistance to scaling.

Physical/Chemical Properties
Fast Setting Concrete Mix exceeds the compressive
strength requirements of ASTM C387. When mixed to a
2"-3" (51 mm-75mm) slump, Fast Setting Concrete will
achieve the typical properties shown in Table 1.
