Section 6 – Accidental Release Measures
Spill and leak Response: avoid actions that cause dust to become airborne. Avoid
inhalation of dust and contact with skin. Wear ppropiate personal protective
equipment as described in Section 8. Cleanup using shovel, sweeping or vacuum.
Avoid dry sweeping which creates dust. Apply water spray to prevent airborne
dust. Scrape up wet material and place in appropriate container.
Section 7 – Handling and Storage
Handling:
- Do not generate airborne dusts in the presence of an ignition source when
sawing, cutting or griding wood.
- Practice good personal hygiene procedures
- Avoid contact of wood dusts with skin and eyes.
- Avoid breathing wood dusts
Storage:
- Maintain good housekeeping procedures
- Avoid Accumulation of dusts
Storage and Handling Practices: Avoid contact with oxidizing agents and drying
oils. Avoid open flame.
