2.3.1NETWORKCLOCKENGINEERINGGENERALSPECIFICATION
Thenetworkclocksshallbedesignedtoprovideyearsofreliableandmaintenancefreeserviceandshallbeconstructedof
allmetalenclosureswithhighimpact,UVstablelensestoensurestructuralintegrityandmaximumdurability.Awall
mountingbracket,orothermeans,
shallbeprovidedformountingtothesurfaceofawall.Thefinishofthenetworkclocks
shallbeofahighquality,durable,paintedtexturedpowdercoatfinishandavailableinachoiceofcolors.Thenetwork
clocksenclosureshallbeavailableinoptionalunpaintedstainlesssteelmaterialandfinish
forspecialapplications.
Thenetworkclocksshallbeavailableindoublefacedordualmountoptionsforapplicationsinhallwaysorcorridors.

intervention.Duringsuch“free‐wheeling”periodsandwhileinoperation,thenetworkclocksshallprovide
avisualindicationthatthedeviceisrelyingontheinternaloscillatorandisnotcurrentlysynchronizedtothenetwork
timeserver.

Minute/secondmarkingshallbeprovided.Theanalogclockshallhaveblackhourandminutehandsandaredsecondhand
indicator.
Theanalogclockshallcontainasteppermotordriveandstateoftheartmicroprocessorandelectronicscontroltorapidly
synchronizethehandsonthefaceoftheclocktoanaccurateNTP(NetworkTimeProtocol)reference.Thestepper
