[Note: Enabling serial port detection of attached devices by selecting the checkbox will
significantly increase the time to discover the network clocks. It is highly suggested to disable this
option unless your network is configured with the special serial port hardware devices]
[Hint: If you are having difficulty discovering attached Masterclock serial port devices that you
have added to your network clock system, open the firewall and/or port control on your
routers/switches to the additional ports 6165 and 6166 for bidirectional UDP messages to include
the RS232 and RS485 devices.]
Advanced Settings
The Advanced button allows for the adjustment of additional network communication settings.
Under most typical operating circumstances it is not necessary, nor is it suggested to change the
advanced settings options.
[Hint: If the advanced settings have been altered for your clock and you begin experiencing
difficulty in getting your clock to synchronize to the NTP time server, or the clock begins acting
erratically, such as performing soft restarts; try returning the advanced settings to the default
values shown above.]
