devices. As risk mitigation to the loss of the wireless communication, Root’s
alarm capabilities have been designed to be independent of the Wi-Fi
communication feature in order to preserve Root’s primary alarms.
Use the Wi-Fi screen to enable or disable Wi-Fi connectivity. When Root is
connected to a Wi-Fi network, the Wi-Fi icon on the Status Bar conveys the
strength of the connection. See

CAUTION: Unanticipated failure or alteration of network components
(including but not limited to: disconnection or malfunctioning of a
networking device/switch/router/ethernet cable) may result in loss of
connectivity of Kite to other hospital systems. Altering or making changes to
the hospital network should be done with proper knowledge.
Connecting Root to Patient SafetyNet
Root can be configured to connect to Patient SafetyNet wirelessly by
authorized and trained personnel only.
