Marumi Introduces Two New Lens Filters:

EXUS Lens Protect and EXUS Circular Polarizer

April 2013, Tokyo: Marumi Optical Co., Ltd., a major name in photo/digital imaging,

introduces a new line of filters, the “EXUS” Series comprised of the EXUS Lens Protect and

EXUS Circular Polarizer, both designed specifically for digital SLR cameras. These filters

are available in 13 different diameter sizes ranging from 37mm to 82mm, and feature new

antistatic anti-reflective coating and glass-mounting system, contributing to exceptional

high-quality imaging in digital SLR photography. Naturally, although developed with

today’s digital photography requirements in mind, the EXES Series filters can also be used

on conventional film cameras.

These filters are scheduled to be made available from the end of April 2013 in Japanese

domestic market and from June/July 2013 in overseas market.

PRESS RELEASE PRODUCT INFORMATION EXUS Lens Protect Made to protect the camera lens, EXUS Lens Protect is a clear, transparent filter with surface reflection of less than 0.3% that does not affect the visible light range. In addition to its excellent low-reflection characteristics, the filter features a Product photo new antistatic coating that protects the lens from static clinging of dust and offers stain-resistance with easy cleaning of water spots and fingerprints.

PRESS RELEASE Ultra Low-reflection: Less Than 0.3% Because the entire outer rim of the lens is treated with black-ink and features a special frame structure, the filter achieves ultra low-reflection of less than 0.3%. With suppression of surface reflection the filter brings out the camera’s lens performance to its maximum, achieving excellent image quality. New Ultra-low Reflective Frame The filter mount features multiple lightblocking ridges to eliminate flaring and ghosting caused by diffusion.

PRESS RELEASE EXUS Circular Polarizer EXUS Circular Polarizer is an essential filter for shooting landscapes and scenery as it suppresses surface reflection of the subject to enhance color contrast. The high light-transmission polarizer on the filter makes colors look more intense and shadows darker with contrast, so the view from Product photo the finder is easier to distinguish.

PRESS RELEASE Antistatic Coating Stress-free photography sessions are made possible by virtue of the antistatic coating that inhibits static clinging of microscopic dust. Even if the lens gets soiled, dust can be easily removed using an air-blower.
