5) Tighten the jam nut snugly by hand. Do not
over tighten the nut.
6) Right the speaker. Caution: Make sure your
hands and any cabling are clear of the spikes.
Do not slide speaker as spikes are sharp and
can damage your floor or carpet.
7) Adjust to level by rotating spikes. Tighten the
jam nut securely when satisfied that speaker
is level. Caution: “Walking” the speaker may
result in a broken spike.
INSTALLING ON A FLAT SURFACE
(MOTION 50XTi/35XTi/30i/15i)
If you have a surface that provides a wide, level,
and stable platform, the speaker can be placed
directly on top. When using the speaker in this
configuration, affix the pads to the bottom of the
speaker at the rear contact points (fig. 8). Note:
This speaker is not magnetically shielded and
therefore should not be placed directly beside or
atop a CRT television.
VERTICAL DISPERSION (MOTION 50XTi/30i)
For optimal performance, the Folded Motion
tweeter should be aimed in the direction of your
ears when sitting in your primary listening position.
If your speaker is installed near or slightly below
ear height, orient the speaker so the flat side is on
bottom. When this speaker is installed on a low
surface, orient the speaker so the angled side is on
bottom (see figure 9).
INSTALLING ON A STAND OR WALL
BRACKET (MOTION 50i/35XTi/30i/15i)
When using aftermarket floor stands or wall brack-
ets, choose one with a shelf-like platform upon
which the speaker rests and which is designed to
support the weight of your speaker. WARNING!
The 3/8 - 16 threaded insert on the back of the
Motion 15i is not intended to bear the full weight
of the speaker in a free-hanging installation. It is
designed only to secure the speaker to stands and
brackets that offer support from beneath.
