Basic Setup
CareAndStorage
Whenproperlycaredfor,yournewMartinbowwillgiveyouyearsoftrouble-freeservice.
Whenyourbowisnewitwillrequirenolubrication.Overtimeyoumayneedtolubricateyour
camstoguardagainstfrictionandnoise.UseadrylubricationsuchasTeonspraypowder
orgraphitepowder.YoucanalsousewetlubesuchasMolyLubeorTri-Flow.Donotuse
WD-40lubrication.
Agoodruleofthumbwhencaringforyourbowistokeepitascomfortableasyouare.If
itistoohotforyou,itistoohotforyourbow.Ifitgetswet,dryitoffcompletely.Periodically
cleanyourbowwithawetragandmildsoaptoremovemudordust(caution:donotstore
untilcompletelydry).Prolongedexposuretoextremeheatmaycausefailureinyourbow
limbsandexcessivestretchinyourstringsystem.Itwillnothurtyourbowifitisrainedon
whileshooting,butmakesureitiscompletelydrybeforestoringitinabowcasetoguard
againstrustorcorrosion.

There are a total of four parts to the Draw Stop
assembly.Arubbercap,thealuminumbodyoftheDraw
Stop,an8/32screwandan8/32hexnut.Toinstallthestop,
placethehexnutinthetrackonthebacksideofthecam.
Toadjustthestop,drawthebowbackeitherbyhandorina
scale/shootingmachine.Atfulldraw,slidethestopuntilit
contacts the under side of the limb. Back the
stop off of the limb 1/32” (appox.) to allow for the
rubber cap to be installed. Snug down the Draw Stop
with the appropriate Hex head wrench, and install the
rubbercapovertheDrawStop.
InstallingandAdjustingtheSTS
MostMartinbowsareoutttedwithanSTSStringDampeningunit,orareequippedto
acceptone.Thisunitisinstalledinthe3/8”diameterholelocatedjustbelowthegripand
issecuredinplacewiththesetscrewintersectingthisholefromthesideoftheriser.The
STSrodshouldbepositionedsothattheSTSBumperisnearlyagainstthebowstringwhen
thebowisatrest.ExcessivecontactwiththebowstringwillpreventtheSTSBumperfrom
performingeffectivelyasadampener,andmaycausetheBumpertobepulledoffbythe
bowstringduringtheshot.Asmallgap(approximately1/16”)shouldbeallowedbetweenthe
bowstringandBumperwhenthebowisatrest.
