Designing with Everyday
General Design Considerations:
Design Considerations:
Everyday Specific Design Considerations:
• Measuring useable wall space – same practices as we measure for Classic systems
• Base molding – always a consideration. If present, be sure to accurately represent this obstruction in
ClosetCADPro
• Height – one height option (reference page 9 for more details)
• Depth – 2 depth options (reference page 10 for more details)
• Working PRIMARILY in standard component widths of – 16”, 24”, 30” (48” for media and office)
• Fill the gap (last resort for Closet spaces with limited Hanging or Basic Shelving only. Limitations must
be clearly explained to the client)
Considerations on selling with gaps:
• The system is floor mounted - there will always be
gaps – this is not wall to wall. Be aware of base
molding on return walls as The Everyday System™
will sit inside the base width-wise. The Metal
Upright will clear the base on the back wall less
than 1.25”
• Some gaps will be larger than others. Centering
system with a 6” or smaller gap when wall to wall is
a good guideline
• Consider using another standard width component
to reduce or exaggerate a gap for additional storage
needs
• Be creative in providing California Closet hook
solutions (ie., hook cleats or Maddox) to make best
use of gaps in spaces such as Pantries and Closets
Considerations on designing with Fill the Gap:
• In some limited cases – we have provided you with
an option to “fill the gap” by cutting pieces on site at
installation. It will be expensive & labor intensive.
Due to part limitations, Closets are the only room
supported. (no Media/Office/Pantry)
• Can apply option in ClosetCADPro when a gap
is between 1” to 15.5” near a wall.
• Option to apply “to Wall” or “to Upright)
- To Wall (wall bracket mount) – only
supports hanging pole & basic shelf parts
- To Upright – only supports hanging pole &
basic shelf parts
• Wall Bracket Mounts removes adjustability of parts
and DNA of the modular system changes.
• Edge banding will be removed from cut side of
shelf
• Component can no longer be modified for adding
parts or reconfiguration by customer
