User guide

Introduction
For convenience the MSR+ provides three alternative
programming options to allow you to control ‘other
products’; ie products from other manufacturers:
You can look up the manufacturer of the product
you want to control in the back of this manual, and
specify the remote you want to mimic by entering a
four digit device code on the numeric keypad.
You can specify the type of product you want to
control, and then search through the available
remote controls until you find the appropriate one
that controls your product.
You can learn each of the commands for the
product from the product’s own remote control.
Learning is the most flexible method but also the
most time-consuming. We recommend you start with
one of the first two procedures and then use learning
to supplement them with any other commands you
want to add.
Note: There is no danger of damaging your MSR+ by
using these procedures. A reset function is provided
which will return your MSR+ to the factory settings;
see
Resetting the MSR+
, page 10.
