3. Turn the unit on.
The PMD580 automatically configures its network
settings and communications with the network or
computer without you having to do anything further.
Notes:
If you set the system settings of “IP Address” to Auto,
use the Show IP menu in the preset settings to find the IP
address of the PMD580 that is assigned by a DHCP server
automatically.
If the PMD580 can not find a DHCP server, when the
PMD580 is turned power on, it might take time to finish
initializing.
If you assign the network setting manually, at the first you
should set the following system settings of the PMD580.
– IP address
– Subnet Mask
– Gateway
Set “DNS Server” setting if necessary.
Note:
If you are not familiar with the network environment where
you wish to connect your PMD580, please contact your
network or IT official or administrator.
How to set up a Shared Folder on a
Server or a Network Server
[Using the Front Panel]
The PMD580 archives the recorded files in a shared folder of
a server or a network server.
1. Create a shared folder on a network server.
2. Turn on the PMD580.
3. Select the Preset menu.
4. Set the archive folder parameters.

S16 Archive Folder (Archive folder name)
S17 Arch UserName (Archive folder user name)
S18 Arch Password (Archive folder password)
5. Turn off the PMD580 and on again to reboot.
[Using the Web Remote]
The PMD580 archives the recorded files in a shared folder of
a server or a network server.
1. Create a shared folder on a server.
2. Bring up the Web Remote on any network computer.
See page 54.
3. Click the System settings button.
4. Type the folder information in each text box.
Archive IP (Archive server IP address)
Archive Folder (Archive folder name)
Arch UserName (Archive folder user name)
Arch Password (Archive folder password)
5. Click the SAVE button.
6. Turn off the PMD580 and on again to reboot.
