(U10) Rename Folder
The Rename Folder menu changes the name of a folder.
1. While in stop, press the MENU/STORE/UTILITY
button while pressing the SHIFT button.
2. Turn the Jog wheel to select the “Rename Folder”,
then press the Jog wheel.
3. Select a folder you want to change the name.
<Example>
• The first character of the folder flashes.
• Turn the Jog wheel to change the character.
• The file name scrolls when the character not shown in
the display is selected.
Press the SHIFT button and then press the Jog wheel to
delete the characters. Pressing the SHIFT button again
enables you to insert characters.
4. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to complete and
return to the Rename Folder.
(U11) Track Delete
The Track Delete menu deletes a selected track.
1. While in stop, press the MENU/STORE/UTILITY
button while pressing the SHIFT button.
2. Turn the Jog wheel until “Track Delete” appears in
the display.
3. Press the Jog wheel.
The Display switches to track number flashing.
4. Select a track or a folder
• Turn the Jog wheel until the track number you want to
erase appears.
• Turn the Jog wheel while pressing the SHIFT button,
until the folder name you want to erase appears.
5. Press the Jog wheel.
“Executing” will be displayed until Erase is finished.
Then “Completed” will be displayed.
• Display returns to step 3 so you can erase another
track.
6. Press the STOP/CANCEL button to cancel.
(U12) Format
The Format menu erases all files and folders in the CF card
and prepares for use in the PMD580.
If the CF card is formatted other than FAT16 or FAT32, the
card have to be formatted in the computer.
1. While in stop, press the MENU/STORE/UTILITY
button while pressing the SHIFT button.
2. Turn the Jog wheel until “Format” is displayed.
3. Press the Jog wheel.
The Display switches to “OK?” flashing.
4. Press the Jog wheel.
“Executing” will be displayed until Format is finished.
Then “Completed” will be displayed.
The PMD580 and display return to stop mode.
5. Press the STOP/CANCEL button to cancel.
