Although the UD8004 is a more affordable Universal Disc player, it is still a truly exceptional-quality flagship unit,

benefiting greatly from the build-quality and extreme attention to detail that was focused on the UD9004. And as a

genuine universal player it delivers all the high-resolution details from SACDs for a true audiophile experience as

well. So it’s no surprise that this player also received FIVE STARS in a recent review. Its absolute video integrity

ensures excellent Blu-ray playback and it actively improves the quality of your DVDs - that’s because the new

Anchor Bay ABT2015 chip video processing optimises any signal with adaptive 3D de-interlacing, noise reduction,

and detail enhancement. For the analogue video-out, it applies a 297MHz/12bit DAC. On the audio side, Marantz

has ensured excellent reproduction of CDs and SACDs by building in a dedicated power supply exclusively for

analogue audio. HDAM-SA2s are used for all channels and are divided over two independent audio boards. This

guarantees best audio quality from all formats including SACD, CD, Blu-ray and DVD. It also decodes DTS-HD and

Dolby TrueHD to output 7.1 analogue audio. And all of this functionality and high-quality reproduction is packed in a

very solid chassis.

The UD7005 is not only a Blu-ray player offering the full BD-Live specification, it is also DLNA1.5-certified, which

means it can stream audio and video stored on your home network. Also, to ensure top audio quality, it includes a

special decoder for HD sound formats and uses a 32-bit audio DAC with 7.1 analogue channel out. The audio stage

uses customized components and the unit can even play the high resolution SACDs via the fast loading mechanism.

Standard DVDs gets a quality boost too – thanks to Anchor Bay’s ABT 2015 VRS™ video processing, which outputs

1080p from standard material via the HDMI 1.4a port, which also makes the player 3D-ready (software update

required). But as with all Marantz players it’s musicality that reins supreme, and to ensure the best from CDs

there’s a Pure Direct Mode.

Now you can have the legendary Marantz quality in an exceptional value-for-money Blu-ray Disc player. Not only

does it reproduce all the delicate audio details from SACDs its superb 24fps Blu-ray quality comes with BD-Live and

DLNA1.5 specifications. You can also enjoy your latest music and video downloads from your PC from your couch.

The quick response mechanism will play Blu-ray, DVD, DVD-A, SACD, CD and is compatible with MP3, WMA, DivX

HD and lots, lots more. In addition, the UD5005 includes a stereo output for analogue signals from CDs or

down-mixed DVD and Blu-ray sound, while the HD audio sound is streamed via the HDMI 1.4a output – which also

makes the player 3D-ready (software update required) for software yet to come on Blu-ray discs.
