The PM6003 replaces the much-praised PM6002, the last amplifier to be upgraded to the new M1 Reference Design

style. But it’s not just the outward aesthetics that have been improved; Marantz took this upgrade opportunity to

further improve this already excellent amp by refining the sound and optimising the balance from bass to mid to

highs for a performance full of harmony. The new lower impedance Toroidal transformer shielded with case, was

also matched to the new main capacitors, which again have been aligned to the new type of power transistor,

mounted on a new extruded aluminium head sink, capable of handling higher currents and keeping closer control of

the speaker. And of course all of the original features - such as six-line audio input including Phono, two-pairs of

gold plated speaker connection with the convenience of bi-wiring and a remote handset - are still available.

The Marantz PM5003 integrated amplifier is the first in its class to offer current feedback architecture – a feature

that until now has been exclusive to the much more expensive models. This technology provides very fast and

accurate signal handling which results in perfectly balanced stereo sound reproduction and a very open and precise

music image. The unit includes controls for Tone and Loudness, as well as a Source Direct function and a headphone

output. The metal chassis and metal front panel provide a rigid base for high quality performance, while the

Marantz system remote controls the whole system of CD, Tuner or DVD. The PM5003 opens the range of Marantz

integrated amplifiers and offers music lovers high sound quality and versatile flexibility.

Developed as successor for the highly popular and What Hi-Fi? Award winner CD6002, this new CD6003 offers

everything a dedicated music lover desires: wide dynamic range, clear detail reproduction, and excellent staging.

The solid chassis is further strengthened by an additional metal bottom-plate, which further reduces unwanted

vibration and makes the CD6003 a real “heavyweight fighter”. The mechanism is centrally installed and the USB

input is derived from the SA8003 and features an iPod digital connection. The stable, oversized power supply feeds

the digital and analogue circuitry of the player, where the high quality CS4398 converts digital signals into

analogue, which is then ‘pushed’ to the gold plated cinch outputs by Marantz’s own small signal amplifier, the

HDAM-SA2. Altogether the CD6003 is a match made in heaven for the music lover who wants nothing but the best

performance at an attractive price.

The CD5003 incorporates high quality audio components such as the well-known CS4392 DA converter, the Marantz

own HDAM-SA2 and a reliable CD transport mechanism. The Audio EX(clusive) mode further excels sound quality

by switching off functions, such as digital output and pitch control, that are not in use. It plays CD-R and CD-RW

discs as well as MP3 and WMA files and displays text information such as artist name and track titles. The Auto

Music Scan (AMS) quickly finds the music on the disc and the Quick Replay function repeats favourite passages,

while the high-grade gold-plated analogue outputs guarantee best connectivity. A well-defined headphone output

and supplied remote control completes the picture of an excellent player.
