A
Environmental Stabilization
Always ensure environmental stabilization of the disk drive or prior to
installation or before operation if the disk drive has been removed from its
normal operating site. Otherwise, the drive media or associated electronics may
be damaged. Environmental stabilization includes temperature and humidity
stabilization.
When condensation is visible on the outside of the disk drive, stabilize
the disk drive or enclosure in the operating environment for six hours or until
the condensation is no longer visible, whichever is longer. Do not insert the disk
drive into the SA7x enclosure until it is fully stabilized.
When there is no condensation visible on the drive, Table A–1 lists the
correct thermal stabilization times.
