Installation Instructions Section 2
2-6
Part No. 80-1175-3, 6/03
Electrical Service
GENERAL
VOLTAGE
For both the Ice Machine Head Section and the CVD®
Condensing Unit, the maximum allowable voltage
variation is ±10% of the rated voltage at ice machine
start-up (when the electrical load is highest).
FUSE/CIRCUIT BREAKER
The ice machine head section and condensing unit are
wired independently from each other.
Ice Machine Head Section
The ice machine head section does not require a
dedicated circuit breaker.
CVD® Condensing Unit
A separate fuse/circuit breaker must be provided for
each condensing unit. Circuit breakers must be H.A.C.R.
rated (does not apply in Canada).
MINIMUM CIRCUIT AMPACITY
The minimum circuit ampacity is used to help select the
wire size of the electrical supply. (Minimum circuit
ampacity is not the ice machine’s running amp load.)
The wire size (or gauge) is also dependent upon
location, materials used, length of run, etc., so it must be
determined by a qualified electrician.
!
Warning
All wiring must conform to local, state and national
codes.
!
Warning
The ice machine and condensing unit must be
grounded in accordance with national and local
electrical codes.
