Troubleshooting Guide
WARNING: Inspection, testing, and repair of elec-
trical equipment should be performed only by
qualified service personnel. The unit should be
unplugged when servicing, except when electri-
cal tests are required.
DANGER: Use extreme care during electrical cir-
cuit tests. Live circuits may be exposed.
Section 1: CO2 Gas System (continued)
Qualifier Probable Cause Corrective Action
CO
2 Supply exhausted (CO2
Tank is functionally empty
if pressure reads less than
500 psi [34.5 bar]).
Primary Regulator out of
adjustment or inoperative.
A and B CO
2 Tank Change-
over Valve incorrectly po-
sitioned.
Malfunction of the Refrig-
eration System.
Water Filter restricted.
Malfunction of the Carbon-
ated Water System.
Primary Regulators set too
high.
Warning lamp or buzzer
burned out. Transformer
inoperative.
Pressure Switch defective.
Verify CO
2 Tank pressure is a minimum of
500psi(34.5 bar) on the Primary Pressure Regu-
lator Gauge marked 0-2000 psi. Replace tank if
necessary.
Verify CO
2 Primary Regulators are set at 90 psi
(6.3 kg/cm
2
). Adjust if necessary. If Regulator
will not stay in adjustment, replace Regulator.
If A and B CO
2 Tank Change-over Valve is posi-
tioned on an empty Tank or halfway between A
and B operating positions, CO2 is not supplied
to Carbonators. Insure valve handler is in the
operating position.
Refer to Troubleshooting Section 7: Refrigera-
tion System under Warm drinks.
Refer to Troubleshooting Section 10: Water
Filter System under Peculiar taste.
Refer to Troubleshooting Section 2: Carbon-
ated Water System under Flat drinks.
Verify CO
2 Primary Regulators are set at 90 psi
(6.3 kg/cm
2
). Adjust if necessary. If Regulator
will not stay in adjustment, replace regulator.
Replace.
When CO2 Tank is empty and CO2 warning
lamp(s) or buzzer fail, verify voltage across
Transformer. If no voltage, replace Transformer.
If CO
2 Warning lamps or buzzer and transformer
are operative. Pressure Switch is defective and
must be replaced.
Primary Regulator (less
than 500 psi [34.5 bar]).
CO
2 Supply adequate
(greater than 500 psi
[34.5 bar]).
Excessive carbonation
(foaming).
Low Pressure CO
2 Warn-
ing light or buzzer does
not come on.
Flat drinks (lack of carbonation in carbonated water)
