Analyzing Discharge Temperature in the Freeze
Cycle
1. Determine the ice machine operating conditions:
Air temp. entering condenser______
Air temp. around ice machine______
Water temp. entering sump trough______
2. Refer to Operating Temperature (starting on
page 167) for ice machine being checked.
Use the operating conditions determined in step 1
to find the published normal discharge
temperatures.
Freeze Cycle______
Harvest Cycle______
3. Perform an actual discharge temperature check.
4. Compare the actual discharge temperature (step
3) with the published discharge temperature (step
2).
The discharge temperature is normal when the
actual temperature falls within the published
temperature range for the ice machine’s operating
conditions.
