Remote Charging Procedures
1. Close the vacuum pump valve and the low side
manifold gauge valve.
2. Open the refrigerant cylinder and add the proper
refrigerant charge (shown on nameplate) into the
system high side (receiver outlet valve/liquid line drier
and/or liquid line quick-connect fitting).
3. If the high side does not take the entire charge, close
the high side on the manifold gauge set and start the
ice machine. Add the remaining refrigerant through
the low side slowly until the machine is fully charged.
4. Verify all of the vapor in the charging hoses is drawn
into the refrigeration system before disconnecting the
charging hoses.
A. Run the ice machine in freeze cycle.
B. Remove the high side low loss fitting.
C. Open the high and low side valves on the
manifold gauge set. Any refrigerant in the lines
will be pulled into the low side of the system.
D. Allow the suction pressures in the refrigeration
system and the manifold gauge set to equalize
while the ice machine is in the freeze cycle.
E. Isolate and remove the low side hose.
F. Install access valve caps.
