REFRIGERANT RE-USE POLICY
Manitowoc recognizes and supports the need for proper
handling, re-use, and disposal of refrigerants. Manitowoc
service procedures require recapturing refrigerants, not
venting them to the atmosphere. It is not necessary, in or
out of warranty, to reduce or compromise the quality and
reliability of your customers’ products to achieve this.
Notice
Manitowoc assumes no responsibility for use of
contaminated refrigerant. Damage resulting from the
use of contaminated, recovered, or recycled refrigerant
is the sole responsibility of the servicing company.
Manitowoc approves the use of:
1. New Refrigerant
• Must be of original nameplate type.
2. Reclaimed Refrigerant
• Must be of original nameplate type.
• Must meet ARI Standard 700 (latest edition)
specifications.
3. Recovered or Recycled Refrigerant
• Must be recovered or recycled in accordance with
current local, state and federal laws.
• Must be recovered from and re-used in the same
Manitowoc product. Re-use of recovered or
recycled refrigerant from other products is not
approved.
