Augmented Category 6 (Cat6a) Cable is used in network applications such as 10, 100, 1000, and 10,000Base-T Ethernet up to
100 meters (328 feet). Cat6a cables have been designed specifically for 10 Gigabit Ethernet applications over copper. They perform
at high-data transfer rates and operate at a minimum frequency of 500 MHz. These cables deliver improved performance over
standard Cat6 cables.
The new Cat6a standard extends the frequency of Cat6a cables to 500 MHz and includes specifications for a new performance
parameter known as Alien Crosstalk (ANEXT). ANEXT is crosstalk that occurs between adjacent cables and connecting hardware.
While not a problem at the lower frequencies of Cat5e and Cat6 cabling, the higher frequency signals of Cat6a makes ANEXT
the limiting noise source for these systems.

caused by Alien Cross Talk. Category 6a cables are also fully backward compatible with all the previous categories, including
Category 6 and 5e.
