1 Preparations
At the heart of this study package are light-emitting diodes
and transistors, which make even complex applications pos-
sible. We have also included the necessary information on
how all of this works, for the curious among you.
The study package contains the following components for
assembling and connecting the components: a breadboard
to set up all the experiments; a 9V battery clip to connect
the battery; a dual four-port switch; a two-wire fuse; and five
cables for the breadboard.
The battery cable should be fitted as securely as possible, so
that it won’t come loose during the course of the many exper-
iments that we will run. Ensure that the bare ends of the red
and black wires are plugged into the proper contact holes on
