Place the shroud over the termination cap(s) allowing
the legs to attach to the side or top of the chase top. See
Figure 18 for a view without shroud and Figures 19 and
20 for views with the shroud installed.
If using a TR Series cap and you prefer that the cap
doesn’t stick out of the top of the shroud (as it does
in Figure 6), use the following requirements (see
Figure 17):
- Use a minimum of .018 in. (.46 mm) thick galvanized
steel. Construct a bottom radiation shield that will t
in the shroud and rest on the bottom anges.
- To place the radiation shield into the shroud, remove
one side of the shroud. Lay the shield into the shroud
and reinstall the shroud side. The radiation shield may
be attached from the bottom side up.

Note: Cut a 17 1/2 in. (444.5 mm) diameter hole out
of the center of the radiation shield to allow it to be
installed around the termination cap.
- Secure radiation shield to anges.
- Place shroud over termination cap and through
radiation shield so shroud will rest on its legs.
- Wire mesh is recommended (but not required) to be
placed over the top and around the 3 in. (76 mm)
opening of the shroud. Use .018 in. (.46 mm)
galvanized steel mesh with maximum 1/2 in. (13 mm)
openings (or equivalent).
Secure the shroud to the chase and caulk anywhere a
leak may occur.
