Preface: The MVP CB-6000-RT Resin / Glass Monitor is a four display unit for monitoring the material throughput of a specific MVP GFRP production machine. When properly calibrated, the monitor will give a continuous and accurate display of the resin and glass being consumed to produce a given part. It shows resin and glass consumption per minute to 1/5 of a kilogram and total amounts of resin and glass that have been consumed to .10 of a kilogram.

Resin Rate Meter programming (Metric) All programming is accomplished from the front panel of the Resin Rate Meter. There are a series of switches at the rear of the meter that are preset at the factory and should not be changed. The one exception is the switch to the far right, when looking at the rear of the meter. Pushing this switch up to the on position will lock in a program so it cannot be changed until the switch is turned off. The down position is how it comes from the factory.
To determine the calibration number for a specific gravity that does not appear in Chart A simply multiply the specific gravity of the resin by 4.3219 for a VLS-4600 pump and by 11.148 for a HVLS-1000 pump. Example: 4.3219 x 1.08 = 4.6677 NOTE: The resin calibration number is based on one count per stroke. With the sensor assembly used there will be more counts per stroke. To adjust the calibration number divide by the number of counts.
Step 1) Turn the front panel power switch off. Step 2) Connect power (100 to 125 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 6 VA) to the unit and turn the power switch on. Pushing the Right Cursor button will change the decimal point to as many as 4 places (.
be highlighted. By pushing the INCREMENT/ON or the DECREMENT/OFF buttons you can increase or decrease the value of the highlighted digit. Pushing the Right Cursor button will move the highlighted digit to the right. This value is normally left at 0000.0. The setting procedure and the preferred setting are the same as in step 4 above.
This is the calibration number for a MVP HVLS high volume resin pump with a resin specific gravity of 1.08 and is preset at MVP. To change this number use the Right Cursor button and the INCREMENT/ON and the DECREMENT/OFF buttons as described in step 4 above. See Chart A for calibration numbers. NOTE: This is the point at which you would normally leave the program mode and return to the run mode. To do this simply push the RUN/PROGRAM button.
Step 9) Pushing the Down Cursor like this: button will change the display to look This step allows you to select the type of output signal you want. This is a test mode for the panel buttons. This is the final function of the program mode and the RUN/PROGRAM button should now be pressed to return you to the run mode of the unit.
Part 2 Resin Total Meter programming: The Resin Total Meter is pre-programmed by MVP at the factory. All values that appear on the display must remain as set by MVP for the unit to function as a totalizer. There are two exceptions, at step 6 where the decimal point is placed and step 7 where the calibration number for resin specific gravity is entered. All programming is accomplished from the front of the Resin Total Meter.

It is initially set at the factory to +- 0.10 kilograms. If you desire more accuracy, push the RIGHT CURSOR button until you achieve the decimal point location you desire.
NOTE: The calibration number must be multiplied by the corresponding decimal point used in step 6. See example etc. with Chart B. At this point in the programming it is possible to leave the program mode and go back to the RUN/PROGRAM mode. To do so push the RUN/PROGRAM button and all changes will be saved and you will be back in RUN mode ready for operation.

Step 13) Push the DOWN CURSOR button and the display will change to this: Push the RUN/PROGRAM button to return to the operating mode. All the remaining steps that can be displayed are for diagnostic tests of the unit and are used by factory personnel for repair etc.
Part 3 Glass Rate Meter programming: All programming is accomplished from the front panel of the Glass Rate Meter. The programming sequence for the Glass Rate Meter is identical to the procedure outlined for the Resin Rate Meter except for the calibration number entered. The Glass Rate Meter has been programmed at the factory for a 2400 tex glass pulling 2 strands through the roving cutter, 0.0276 calibration number for an Pro Chopper, VRC-2000-XXX and 4 Strand chopper (70020-X).
To determine the Glass Rate Meter calibration number for any glass yield not given in charts C and D calculate the calibration number as the example below. VRC-2000-XXX, Pro Chopper and 4 Strand Chopper assemblies (70020-X) Example: Tex 2400 g / km Rotor circumference: VRC-2000-XXX, Pro Chopper and 4 Strand choppers (70020-X) = 95.7555 mm. 6 Strand Chopper Assembly (70010-1) = 137.2489 mm. 1. Divide tex number by 106 mm and by 1000 g to get kg / mm. 2400 grams 1 km x 1 x 106 mm 1 km g ÷ 1000 1 kg 2.
Part 4 Glass Total Meter programming: All programming is accomplished from the front panel of the Glass Total Meter. The programming sequence for the Glass Total Meter is identical to the procedure outlined for the Resin Total Meter except the calibration number entered. The Glass Total Meter has been programmed at the factory for a 2400 Tex glass. The VRC-2000-XXX, Pro Chopper and 4 Strand Roving Cutters (70020-X) has entered a calibration number of 0.0023 for 2 strands.
To determine the Glass Total Meter calibration number for any glass Tex not given in charts E and F calculate the calibration number as the example below. Part 5 Troubleshooting: 1) If nothing happens when the unit is powered up, check the fuse on the back of the unit. If it is good, check to make sure that that power is coming through the supply cord. 2) If the rate reading for the resin pump is consistently fluctuating a few tenths of a pound, loosen the lock nut and screws the ball joint up or down slightly to smooth out the reading. The closer it is to center, the less fluctuation will be noticed.
