Optimizing your photos
MAGIX Xtreme PhotoStory on CD & DVD 8 deluxe
provides a lot of different editing functions for picture and sound. Let's start with "Storyboard" mode:
In this case, you'll see each
individual picture in a so-called
"photo box". Each photo box has
a number of settings for duration,
fades, effects, and text:
Set display time:
Double clicking on the clock lets
you enter how long the photo
should be shown for.
Add title and text:
Titles (for example, subtitles, opening/closing credits)
can be added to every photo. Click on "Text". The
title editor is ready with a number of text design
variations.
Fades:
Between the photos you'll find the buttons for the
transitions (fades). Simply drag the start marker to just
before the beginning of a picture and the end marker
to behind it and press the space bar. The range
between the start and end markers will be played
back as an endless loop. Now you can try out the
fades one after the other and view the result
immediately in the video monitor.
Picture editing:
Press the "FX" button on the photo box to access the
effects and image processing tools which can be used
separately on each photo. Every photo's quality can
be optimized.
If a photo is on its side or upside down, then click on the symbol with the rotating arrow. The photo will
rotate 90 degrees. You can control the effect directly on the video screen.
To prepare photos for importing and optimizing for the slideshow, we recommend using MAGIX Photo
Manager. It has correctional tools for redeye, or auto-color and white balance for discoloration in
pictures.
The program is installed automatically and can be used for quick previewing and easy management of
pictures from your database. Pictures sorted into the database can be loaded into the MAGIX Xtreme
PhotoStory on CD & DVD 8 deluxe Media Pool via the "Database" button.
For more complex editing like photo panorama and photo filter effects, the deluxe version comes with a
separate image processing program MAGIX Xtreme Photo Designer. Users of the classic version can
download the latest software at any time for free. To load a photo into MAGIX Xtreme Photo Designer,
select the option "Edit photo" in the FX menu of the photo box. Read more on this in the MAGIX
Xtreme Photo Designer Help section.
Dubbing sound:
If you wish to add narration to your slideshow, then use the "Audio and video recording" function for
microphone recordings in MAGIX Xtreme PhotoStory on CD & DVD 8 deluxe. The recording dialog
