Title Editor
The text button
opens the Title
Editor from which
you can enter text
(e.g. for subtitles
or credits) in any
number of fonts
or colors. The
text can be made
to scroll (perfect
for rolling credits)
or be furnished
with effects,
designs, or other
forms of
movement.
To include and edit a title in your project proceed as follows:
Select a template. Simply click on it to preview it in the video window. This way you can see
how certain title settings will look and what effect they will have.
The Title Editor is basically a small text program that you can use to enter text and format it
however you like. Write your text for your video subtitles and format it to fit your requirements.
You can enter text, font, size, color, typeface, and more directly from the Title Editor by clicking
on the font button.
In the Templates drop-down menu you can set even more effects and dynamic animations
for your text (have the text wander from the top of the page to the bottom, for example).
If you wish to format the entire text, then you don't have to select the entire text beforehand. If a
selection has not been made the entire text will be formatted (clicking on "underline" underlines
the entire text). You can select the entire text's color from all possible text colors (symbol
color in the font dialog only supports the standard text colors, which may not be suitable
depending on video material).
In the "Text effects" chapter under "Display" you can add shadows, borders, and/or 3D
effects to the text. Fine tuning settings can be found in the "Advanced" button.
To arrange your text in the video monitor use the scroll bars and the Title Editor above the text
window. You can freely position the writing vertically and horizontally. If you have chosen a
movement for the title this position sets the start position of the title. Double clicking on the scroll
bars brings the title back to the middle of the video monitor.
Please note that when setting up a movement the start position of the title is set outside of the
video window by default. You can, however, change the start position by moving the vertical
position slider (to the left of the video monitor).
In the category "Title length" you can set how long the title should be shown.
The "Preview" button provides a title preview in the video monitor whenever you need it. The
complete video also shows with the title. If you've selected a movement for your title, then the
title will be animated in the video window. You can interrupt the preview at any time with the
"Stop" button.
When you have finished working on your title close the Title Editor by pressing the "OK" button.
