Save in profile
for details on how to create these); and one standard profile, MAGIX Online World, which is installed
along with the program.
Standard profiles: When you select the standard profile, a banner appears immediately below the
profile list. This banner is downloaded from the web hosting company (so it will only appear if you are
online). Click a button on the banner to find out more about the MAGIX Online World web hosting
solution on its website. If you decide to sign up for hosting, you will be given a username and password
with which to connect. You enter those details in the FTP Details
section of this dialog.
FTP Details
: Enter the FTP details you have for your web space here. You need to enter at least the host address (if
you have a domain name this is often the same as your domain name) and username. For example, for
MAGIX Online World users, the host address would be ftp.magix-online.com. If you chose the Magix
web hosting option in the profile list, the FTP host address is set for you automatically. For MAGIX
Online World users, the username is the same as your Online World login (FTP username = your email
address).
You don't need to enter the password at this stage if you don't want to. If it's missing you will be asked to
enter it each time you publish your website. For MAGIX Online World users, the password is the same
as your Online World password.
The optional Sub-folder lets you publish your website into a sub-folder. If you set a sub-folder here, then
all the pages in your website will be published to this folder.
Whether or not you have to publish to a sub-folder depends on the requirements of your web hosting
company. Some don't require you to publish to a sub-folder at all, while others require you to publish to
a 'public' or a 'www' sub-folder, for example. You must check the full FTP folder path that your own
web hosting company requires you to publish to before publishing your website, as requirements vary
widely.
As an example, if your web hosting company wants you to publish to
'http://yourdomain.com/public_html', then you need to type 'public_html' into the Sub-folder box.
Note
: If you are an MOW user, you do not need to type a sub-folder into the Sub-folder box.
Website URL
: Enter the full URL of your published website here if you would like to automatically generate an XML
Sitemap, which is a list of the pages on your website, and helps search engines find and list all the pages
in your site. When you export your website, a file called Sitemap.xml is also created in the main export
folder. If no URL is specified here when you export your website, no sitemap is created.
Note:
Because a valid Sitemap must include the full URL of the website, a Sitemap can only be generated if the
website URL is available.
Include my website in the user gallery: This option is only enabled if you have added a valid website
URL. Select this option if you would like your website to appear in Xara's gallery of websites created by
Web Designer Premium. After publishing your site, Web Designer Premium places it in the Xara user
gallery. Visit the gallery at http://www.xara.com/websitegallery or click the More Info
button to learn more.
Save details in current document
The FTP Details you've entered are associated only with the current open document. If you switch to a
different document you'll see the FTP details fields become blank, unless you've already entered details
for that other document. By default the FTP details are NOT saved with the document. That means each
time you load the document and want to publish it, you'll need to either re-enter the FTP details, or select
a profile from which the details should be copied.
