Entering publishing details
1.
In the Profile drop-down list, choose either Custom or, if you are a MAGIX Online World
user, choose Magix web hosting.
2.
In the FTP Host Address box, type in your FTP host address. If you have a domain name this
is often the same as your domain name. For example, for MAGIX Online World users, this
would be ftp.magix-online.com. If you chose the Magix web hosting option in the profile list,
the FTP host address is set for you automatically.
3.
In the FTP username box, type in your FTP username. For MAGIX Online World users, this is
the same as your Online World login (FTP username = your email address).
4.
In the FTP password box, type in your FTP password. For MAGIX Online World users, this is
the same as your Online World password.
5.
The optional Sub-folder box lets you publish your website into a sub-folder. If you set a
sub-folder here, then all the pages in your website will be published to this folder. Whether or not
you have to publish to a sub-folder depends on the requirements of your web hosting company.
Some don't require you to publish to a sub-folder at all, while others require you to publish to a
'public' or a 'www' sub-folder, for example. You must check the full FTP folder path that your
own web hosting company requires you to publish to before publishing your website, as
requirements vary widely. As an example, if your web hosting company wants you to publish to
'http://yourdomain.com/public_html', then you need to type 'public_html' into the Sub-folder box.
Note: If you are an MOW user, you do not need to type a sub-folder into the Sub-folder box.
6.
If you want a sitemap generated for your website, or if you want your site included in the Xara
User Gallery, you need to enter the full URL of your published website in the Website URL
field. See the Publish tab help for information on sitemaps. The Include my website in the user
gallery checkbox is only enabled if you have added a valid website URL. If you select this
option, after publishing your site Web Designer Premium displays your website in Xara's gallery
of websites created by Web Designer Premium users. Visit the gallery at
http://www.xara.com/websitegallery or click the More Info button to learn more.
7.
Select the Save details in current document checkbox to have the publish details you have
provided saved with the current document. When you enable the Save details in current
document checkbox, the Save password in document checkbox also becomes selectable.
Select this checkbox to also save the FTP password with the current document, if you are sure
that is what you want. This is not recommended because it means anyone who gets a copy of
your design file can publish to your website without knowing or entering your password!
8.
You can also opt to save the publish details on your computer in a named profile. Click the Save
in profile button and enter a suitable profile name. Now you can select the profile from the
profile list at the top of the dialog, so you can use them in other documents without having to
re-enter them.
8.
Note: You can delete a profile by selecting it in the Profile list and clicking the Delete button
next to it.
9.
Normally leave the Re-publish changed files only checkbox selected. This makes
re-publishing much quicker in most cases because only files changed since the last publish are
re-published.
10.
(Optional) Click the Explore web space button to browse, view and delete files you have
uploaded to your FTP server.
11.
Click OK. Web Designer Premium displays a dialog confirming the publish details that it is about
to use for publishing. Click Publish.
Setting up the Export folder
Once you've set your Publish details, you can then click the Publish
