The algorithm "Beat marker slicing" is especially useful for:
Samples that are able to be split into individual notes or beats
Drum loops, provided the beats do not overlap and there is not much reverb
The algorithm "Beat marker slicing" is less useful for:
Signals that cannot feature beat markers. Silence will be the result.
The CPU load is very light.
Beat marker stretching
This algorithm works in a similar way to the standard algorithm, the main difference is that
the stretched material is synchronized with the beat markers. This way, the groove remains
perfectly intact and doubled or faded out beats will not occur. Unlike the "Beat marker
slicing" algorithm, absolute silence does not occur when there are no markers or incorrectly
placed markers; instead, the synchronization quality is reduced or has errors. In practice,
automatic marker generation is usually sufficient for good results. Avoid short distances
with sequential beat markers (< 1000 samples).
Long overlap
If this option is active for "Beat marker stretching", the audio will not be as rough, however
echoes may result. This option is especially useful for drum loops featuring slight time
changes.
The "Beat marker stretching" algorithm is especially useful for:
All types of rhythmic samples that are unable to be cut into individual notes or measures
(beats)
Rhythmic samples of all types, although individual notes/hits will not be separated
Applications that cannot be used for beat marker slicing or are too complicated for
perfect beat marker positioning.
Setting and evaluating beat markers
If beat markers have not been placed yet, these will be generated automatically in real time.
In the Resampling/Time Stretching dialog, select the "Patched" option to specify whether
or not saved ("patched") beat markers should be used in the wave project.
Use the following option to generate beat markers:
Find and use beat markers: After activating this option, the algorithm will locate the beats
and mark them as beat markers.
Note: This function is only available in the wave editor.
