File menu 317
Convert other file formats into wave: Compressed audio formats such as MP3 can be
loaded and played in Samplitude Music Studio 2013 directly. This requires increased
CPU calculation. Activate this option to convert files like this into an uncompressed
wave format.
Tip: It is much easier to search for, organize, preview and load files using the File
manager (view page 297).
Shortcut: W
Load MIDI file
Load MIDI files via this item. In comparison to the "Load audio file" option, only MIDI
files are displayed.
Tip: Files can be searched for, organized, previewed, and loaded much easier using
the File Manager (view page 297).
Load audio CD track(s)
This function allows import and writing of audio files using most CD/DVD ROM
drives. Data import takes place completely digitally, without any sound loss. HD wave
projects are created as wav files and can also be loaded in other audio programs
without having to convert the format.
To import audio tracks you should proceed as follows:
1. Open the drive list dialog ("CD" > "Load audio CD track(s)"). A CD track list
dialog appears. In case there is more than one drive, you can select the right
one using the "CD drive options" button.
2. Mark the desired title(s) (using the Shift/Alt and arrow key combination) in
the track list.
3. Click "Copy selected tracks..."
4. Select a name of the wav file or the HD wave project being created and click
on "Import".
5. Audio material will be copied form the drive and a progress bar will display
how the process is proceeding.
6. Close the dialog. You will see the loaded titles in Samplitude Music Studio
2013.
