Objects
Objects in MAGIX music editor 2 simply are instructions to play a range from an audio file. The VIP
window contains objects in a virtual track. The term ‘virtual’
is used, because the object does not contain any audio itself. What it does contain is information to move
to a particular starting time in the physical audio file and play back the audio for the duration of the range
length specified by the length of the object.
In virtual projects the audio data is represented by rectangles („Objects" as it is called). An Object is the
representation of a sample or a segment marked within the sample. In other words: The Object is used as
a reference to the audio data, which is stored in the wave projects.
The lock symbol , which can be hidden and which is positioned on the lower border of each object,
can be used to protect an object against accidental modifications. The attributes to be protected can be
selected using Options for Locking Objects
.
For further information on Objects see term definitions of virtual projects.
