Virtual Project Components
VIP Window components allow you to set properties for the respective audio track and contains the
main editing area.
Window Title Bar
The title bar shows the name of the VIP and the sampling rate. It also shows the length of the project in
samples.
Lock
Locking a track will prevent you from accidentally moving or deleting objects in the track display. The
Lock Definitions in Object->Lock Object can be used to prevent or allow certain editing steps.
Volume Automation
MAGIX music editor 2 has extensive support for volume automation. Clicking on this button activates
the volume automation for a track. Once active you can assign certain volume fades by creating so-called
‘volume nodes’ along the volume automation line. These events are also referred to as ‘volume rubber
bands’
because of their rubber band like nature when moving them.
The volume automation can be enabled on a track by track basis. Once automation events are created,
they will reside on the track until the volume automation is turned off. However, the outline of the line or
curve is not lost. Once the automation is turned back on, the automation events are restored to where
you left them.
MAGIX music editor 2 allows you to change the automation events even during playback and has
several functions to make them ‘stick’
to specific objects.
Panorama Automation
Just like the volume automation the panorama or panning automation is a convenient way of adding fades
