Keyboard Shortcuts
Menu: Options
The keyboard shortcuts in MAGIX music editor 2
can be customized to your own preferences. Any command found in the menus can be used to assign a
specific keyboard shortcut. We would suggest familiarizing yourself with the default settings before
changing the keyboard shortcuts. Most default assignments follow certain logic and many shortcuts are
related.
If you have made any mistake in assigning new shortcuts, you can always return to the default setting with
the ‘Restore Default’
button.
The shortcut settings are saved to the file '??????_TB.ini' (???? Stands for the your program version
executable file name) in the MAGIX music editor 2
directory when exiting the program. The next time the program is loaded, the customized shortcuts will be
retained.
A convenient option is the saving of Shortcut templates. The buttons ‘Save Shortcuts’ and ‘Load
Shortcuts’
allow you to customize the shortcut assignments and save them to templates that you can recall at any
time. For the first time two or more engineers can work on the same station and each having their own
set of customized keyboard shortcuts!
You can also customize the menus and hide menu items you not frequently or never use, e.g. Im-&
Export of unusual file formats if you never intend to use it.
The most important aspect of the dialog is the display of the MAGIX music editor 2 menu tree. You can
select which menu option is to be reassigned a new key. To accomplish this, simply click on the desired
menu option in the tree and then on the 'New Shortcut' box. Next, press the new key or key combination
and press or click on the 'Assign new Shortcut' button. Any possible combination of Shift, Alt, and Ctrl
with other keys is possible. Please do not use the space bar, ESC, or the Insert key. These functions are
hardcoded into MAGIX music editor 2
and can not be changed!
