Voyager Modular Construction
OneofthefeaturesoftheVoyagerextensionproductsistheirmodularconstruction.Inmostcasesyoushould
receiveyourVoyagerproductsalreadyassembledandreadytouse.However,intheeventachangeinthe
configurationisrequired(orafailedmoduleneedsreplacement),theindividualsectionsareeasily
disassembled/reassembled.
Youwillonlyneeda#2(orsimilar)Phillips‐head(cross‐point)screwdriver.
Voyager Module Disassembly
Procedure
TodisassembleeithertheVIDEOorAUXmodule,simply
unscrewthetwolocking‐screwsonthesideofthemodule
youwanttoremove.Oncethelockingscrewsareloosened
justenoughforthemodulestobeseparated(about¼”)–
thescrewwillremaincaptiveintheassemblyand
shouldn’t
falloutorgetlost.
PulltheVIDEOorAUXmoduleawayfromthecoreina
sidewaysmotion.Donotbendortrytoremovethe
moduleatanangle.ThePCBedge‐connectorfingersmustdisengageproperly,andusecautionnottodamage
eithertheexposededge‐fingers
orthematingsocketon
theCOREmodule.
Voyager Module Assembly Procedure
Theassemblyprocedureisessentiallyreverseofthe
disassemblyprocedure.Carefullydocktheedge‐finger
contactfromtheVIDEOorAUXmoduleintotheCORE
module.Pushtheenclosurestogetherbeingcarefulnotto
inserttheconnectoratanangle.Oncefullydocked,
tightenbothlocking‐screwsuntiltheyarejust
snug.
Excessivetighteningcanbendordamagetheenclosure.

Note:IfaVIDEOorAUXmoduleisgoingtobepermanentlyremoved,remembertoinstalltheappropriate
cover‐plateovertheopenslot.Thiscover‐plateprotectstheCORE’smatingconnectorfromforeignobjectsand
possibledamage,andalsomaintains
theenclosure’sforRFI/EMIintegrity.Notethattherearetwotypesof
cover‐plates:oneeachtocovertheVIDEOandAUXsidesoftheCOREmodule.Thereare2shortscrews
providedforattachingeachcover‐plate.




