Transmitter/Receiver Installation
ThefollowingfigureshowsatypicalVoyagertransmitter(orreceiver)andsomeassociatedcabling.

GeneralInstallationProcedure
1. DeterminetheappropriatemountingmethodforeachTX/RX.Ifoptionalmountinghardwareis
required,severalvariantsareavailablefromMagentaResearch.
2. Ensurethatthedesiredmountinglocationdoesnotsignificantlyblockthecoolingventholesonthe
TX/RXenclosure.
3. EXCEPTforthepowercable,connectall
interfacecables(asappropriate):videosource,video
display,serial,audio,andIR.Ensureallconnectorsarecleanandfreeofcontaminantspriorto
makingtheconnections.Anyavailablelockinghardware(screws/latches)shouldbeusedtoprevent
cablesfromdisconnectingorcausingintermittentoperation.
4. Connectyourfiberopticcabletothe
TX/RX,usingtheOptic1orOptic2SFPports,asneeded.Note
thateachSFPmodulehasa“TX”and“RX”fiberport.Ensureyourfiberopticcablesareproperly
oriented(TXRX),andensureallfiberconnectorsarecleanandfreeofcontaminantspriorto
makingtheconnections.
5.
Note:TheUSB“Config”ontheTX/RXcoremoduleisusedonlyforconfigurationandfirmware
upgrades.Nothingconnectstothisportduringnormaluse.
6. ConnecttheDCpowerinputcable.ItdoesNOTmatterwhethertheTXorRXispoweredupfirst.
